Licensing and update problems
Fixing Aimogen Pro activation failures, expired licences, missing updates and seat problems.
Activation fails#
The code is rejected#
Check the format. Two are accepted:
| Format | Shape |
|---|---|
| WPBay | ABCD1234-EFGH5678-IJKL9012-MNOP3456 |
| Envato (legacy) | 8charact-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-12charactersx |
An Envato-format code is 36 characters; the WPBay format differs. A code of an unexpected length is
rejected and logged as Invalid registration code submitted.
Check for whitespace. Copying from an email frequently picks up a trailing space or newline.
Check you have the right code. Codes are per-product.
All seats are used#
Your licence covers a fixed number of sites. If you have moved sites without revoking, the seats are still consumed.
Fix: revoke on the sites you no longer use — Settings › Activation › Revoke License — then activate here.
If you no longer have access to an old site, contact support.
The server cannot reach the verification service#
Activation contacts wpinitiate.com. If your host blocks outbound HTTP, or a firewall blocks that domain,
activation fails.
Check: System & Logs › System Info, the Remote POST and Remote GET lines.
Updates do not appear#
The licence is not activated#
The updater is only registered when the licence is in an activated, demo or migration-notice state. Without it, WordPress shows a note under the plugin row on Plugins explaining that automatic updating is disabled.
You are on a multisite subsite#
The updater runs only on the main site of a network. Update from there.
Update metadata is cached#
Select Check for updates in the plugin row, or Dashboard › Updates › Check again.
The plugin folder was renamed#
The updater keys on the folder name aimogen-pro. A renamed folder stops updates being offered. Rename it
back.
The host blocks the update source#
Same check as above.
The licence shows as expiring#
The registration record carries a supported_until date, and the Activation screen warns as it
approaches.
An expired support window does not switch the plugin off. Existing functionality keeps working; new updates stop being offered. Renew to resume updates.
A migration notice appears#
You hold a legacy Envato-format code and the plugin is inviting you to migrate it to WPBay.
To migrate, follow the migration section on the product page. See Migrating from Aiomatic.
The site says DEMO Mode#
The install is recognised as a demo server. No registration is required and the plugin is fully functional.
If this appears unexpectedly on a production site, contact support.
Activation lost after a migration or restore#
A restored backup carries the registration record from the original domain.
Fix: revoke on the clone, then activate. If the original is gone and seats are consumed, contact support.
Moving to a new host or domain#
- Revoke on the old site, before taking it down.
- Migrate.
- Activate on the new site with the same code.
If the old site is already gone, contact support to release the seat.
Staging sites#
Activate a staging site only if you have a spare seat. Revoke before deleting it.
Hosts that give staging a new temporary domain on every rebuild make this impractical — treat staging as unlicensed, or allocate a dedicated seat.
Getting help#
Include:
- Your purchase code — support can verify it, and it is not a secret in the way an API key is
- The domain you are activating
- The exact error shown
- System & Logs › System Info
Then open a support ticket.
