AI Content Editor
How the Aimogen Pro AI Content Editor rewrites and enriches existing WordPress content, either manually in bulk or automatically as posts are published.
The AI Content Editor works on content that already exists. It can rewrite, translate, extend, summarise, add images, generate SEO fields, assign taxonomies, add comments and more — to one post, to a filtered selection, or to every new post as it is published.
This tutorial was recorded before Aiomatic was renamed to Aimogen Pro. Some labels or interface elements may differ slightly from the current version.
The three ways to run it#
| Mode | Screen | When it runs |
|---|---|---|
| Automatic editing | Automatic Editing | On a schedule, or as posts are published or updated |
| Bulk editing | Existing Content Editing | On demand, over a filtered selection |
| Per post | The post editor | On one post, from the editor sidebar |
All three use the same configuration, held in a template.

What it can change#
Each element is independently switchable, with its own prompt and model.
| Element | Setting group |
|---|---|
| Post title | Enable Post Title Editing, plus optionally rewriting the URL slug to match |
| Post content | Enable Post Content Editing, with Gutenberg and Elementor block awareness |
| Post slug | Enable Post Slug Editing, with a maximum length |
| Post excerpt | Enable Post Excerpt Editing |
| Featured image | Generate, replace or edit the existing one |
| In-content images | Edit images already inside the content |
| Appended content | Generate extra content and place it before or after the existing body |
| Table of contents | Insert one, with configurable depth and styling |
| Internal and external links | See Internal and external linking |
| Categories and tags | Generate and assign |
| Custom fields and custom taxonomies | Generate and assign |
| Comments and reviews | Generate, including WooCommerce product reviews with star ratings |
| SEO title and description | Written into your SEO plugin |
| Audio and video | Text-to-speech of the post, or transcription of attached audio |
Block-aware editing#
Two settings change how content is processed:
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
Enable Gutenberg Block Support | Runs the prompt separately for each block, preserving block structure |
Enable Editing For These Gutenberg Blocks | Restricts which block types are touched |
Enable Elementor Editor Block Support | Runs the prompt separately for each Elementor block |
Elementor CSS Class Filter | Restricts editing to Elementor elements carrying a class |
Protecting content#
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
Disable Editing of Content Longer Than This Character Count | Skips very long posts, which are expensive and more likely to be damaged |
Maximum Character Chunk Size To Send To The AI Editor | Splits long content into chunks |
Protect HTML Tags in Edited Text | Preserves markup the model would otherwise strip |
Publish Edited Content Even if the AI Removed Parts of the HTML Text | Off by default. Leave it off — it is the safety check that rejects mangled output |
AIMOGEN_EXCEPTED_POST_TYPES_FROM_EDITING excludes the plugin own internal post types, so agents,
embeddings records, forms and similar are never edited by mistake.
Publishing behaviour#
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
Publish as New Post After Editing | Creates a new post instead of modifying the original. The safest way to evaluate |
Change Post Status After Editing | For example move to draft for review |
Change Post Date After Editing | Update the modified or published date |
The legacy editor#
Enable The Legacy AI Content Editor restores the pre-template behaviour, where settings lived directly
on the editor screen rather than in a template.
It exists for sites that configured the editor before templates were introduced. New configurations should use templates.
