Hi,

(1)
I have recently purchased/installed the plugin. Everything works well, but it doesn’t work with YouTube. It does not stream YouTube videos. How can I fix that?

(2)
Plus, when i try to set the external proxy list, it keeps showing me this error message on a blank page; what should I do?

Error in page download: Failed to connect to *.*.*.* port 8746: Connection refused

Hello,

First of all, thank you for your purchase. Can you tell me, please, about which plugin are you asking? From the description you gave, I suspect it is the MultiLive plugin. https://codecanyon.net/item/multilive-multiple-live-stream-broadcaster-plugin-for-wordpress/22640529 – if this is the case, please check below:

1. Please be sure to use the latest version of the plugin (v1.1.1) – I recall that I fixed recently an issue with YouTube video detection, please check if the latest update solves this issue.

2. This issue seems to be appearing because your server cannot access the proxy, because it refuses to accept connection from your server. Please check if your proxy is needing authentication or if it has a firewall where your server’s IP might be blacklisted. Please check on this, the connection does not seem to be able to be done between your server and the proxy.

Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.

Hi,

thanks for the response. In order to answer your first question, I have to say I am using the “Zapp proxy plugin“.

The plugin works quite fine, and it can stream Vimeo, Spotify and Soundcloud, also embedded videos and musics. However, the zapp plugin can’t stream Youtube videos, neither on YouTube nor embedded YT videos.

So, I want to know what could possibly be the reason why I can’t stream only Youtube videos, and how can I fix it?

Regards

Hello,

Can you send me, please, an example URL from your site where I can see this issue? I tried to reproduce this on my test site and for me this did not happen. I might have missed something.

Thank you.

Regards.

I think I made a confusion by my last post. Please ignore it. I try to give you the info in this new post.

The website on which Zapp plugin is installed:

The proxied URL:
> https://aiviu.ca/breaking-me/ (YouTube embedded video)

However, if you try to check this link (which is Vimeo embedded) instead, you can see the the plugin works well with vimeo.
> https://aiviu.ca/video-playlist/ (Vimeo embedded video)

I thought maybe the default proxy list on the Zapp is the problem here and can’t handle YouTube requests. So I bought 1 dedicated SOCKS & 1 HTTPS proxy List with authentications. However, I wasn’t able to connect through them successfully unfortunately to test the plugin with external proxy lists.

Bests

Hello,

I checked and indeed, YouTube is no longer allowing displaying of their embeds on a proxied site. This was not like this in the past, this seems to be a recent security measure from their part.

The error message that appears when the video is played:

Refused to connect to ‘https://www.youtube.com/api/stats/qoe?event=…’ because it violates the following Content Security Policy directive: “connect-src ‘self'”.

Unfortunately, proxying embedded YouTube videos is no longer possible because of this security measure from YouTube’s part.

Sorry for this inconvenience.

Regards,

Szabi – CodeRevolution.
