Mediumomatic: %%item_description%% provide a full (not short) content

      Hello! I’m trying to get a some nice short description for the posts but cannot understand what %%item_description%% shortcode should provide?

      In my case it provides a full content, identical to what %%item_content%% .

      I tried to go deeper to the plugin’s code, seems it’s not what it supposed to do 🙂 But I cannot understand why it provides full content.

      I think it should provide some SEO description from Medium’s post for example (please see attachment). Also it could be any other sort of short description but not the full content 😉

      Can you please clarify me this?

      Hello,

      Thank you for this suggestion, I updated the Mediumomatic plugin to v2.0.6.1 – added a new shortcode to it: %%item_short_description%%

      It will always be plain text (no HTML) and limited to 55 words (max).

      Hey! I tried but it just trims the content. So here is the issue (what I mean):

      For example this post starts with a list so the excerpt of the content (trimmed content) looks weird.

      But I found that Medium automatically generates nice SEO description (don’t know how but in this case it wasn’t originally a trimmed content) and it also can be improved manually in Medium (please see the attachment above). This is could be perfect for excerpts!

      So is it possible to parse somehow meta description/og:description?

      I found something in plugin’s folder but not sure…
