How to get full Facebook article instead of “read more” button

      Dear Szabi,

      we are using your Fbomatic plugin in on our page to get Facebook post.

      Unfortunately some post are with longer text blocks. Fbomatic generates a few lines of the text and places then a “read more” link to the original Facebook post. Is there a possibility to get the complete text in the blog post? In my research I only found a description for your Newsomatic pluging (https://coderevolution.ro/knowledge-base/faq/how-to-get-full-article-content-using-the-newsomatic-plugin-easy-method/). Same would be great for Fbomatic.

      Can you send me, please, the URL of the Facebook page from where the plugin imports only partial content, so i can check on this?

      Please give me more details on which method are you currently using to import posts from Facebook?

      Cookie based method from Facebook or official Facebook API method using APP ID/Secret.

      I ask because I tried to import posts but in my case they were imported fully.

      Hello,

      I checked your site and indeed, there was a misunderstanding on my part. Currently the plugin is not able to get full post content for long content posts, only if you are using the API based method to grab posts from Facebook (however, this requires the ‘Page Public Content Access’ permission from Facebook API developer platform: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/features-reference/page-public-content-access/).

      All I can do to make this work better is to remove the automatically added ‘read more’ button which leads back to the full post on Facebook. Would this be helpful in your case?

      Hi Szabi,

      removing the “read more” button would be helpful to get automatically full articles. This would be great. Is this a special customizing for my installation or globaly available, so that the plugin is releaseable for future versions?

      Hello,

      I just found an alternative solution for this issue.

      It seems that Facebook is limiting access from your server’s IP address to their resources, this is why the plugin is not able to extract full content from articles.

      So, to get full content again for articles, please change the current IP address of your server and check if this solved this issue. You can contact your hosting provider’s support and ask them to change the IP address of your server.

      If this is not possible, you can also use a web proxy, in the plugin’s ‘Main Settings’ menu -> ‘Web Proxy Address’ settings field.

      Dear Szabi,

      in my setup it is not possible to change the IP of the server, so i configured a proxy as you mentioned. Post are created successfully but unfortunately the “more” link still appears. Any more hints regarding this topic?

      Well, interesting that this is still the case, even with a proxy.

      Please send me temporary admin login credentials to your site (sorry, but I don’t remember your site’s URL any more) and I check on this again.
