Webz.io api ?

      Hey Szabi,

      I purchased the newsomatic plugin a couple of months ago (working great btw); I’m very interested in getting the trendomatic plugin also.

      I tried signing up for Webz.io api. Had a call with their sales team. Explained a brand monitoring solution I was planning on developing or having developed for me, and they told me that api pricing starts at $12k annually. Is this really the only means through which to get an api key? My estamated calls per month would be probably less than 100.

      Looking for any advice/solutions you might have.

      Hello,

      Wow, that is indeed a high number for a year. Well, they started of as a free service back in 2017 and changed their pricing in 2021. I was not yet aware of their new pricing plans, sorry for this.

      The only solution I can come up is to use an account rotation of free plans, because I see that they offer a 10 day free plan for testing. You can try to create a new account every 10 days and switch the API key in the plugin with a new one. Not the best solution, I know, but it is the best I can come up right now.

      Yep, too rich for my blood 🙁

      Unfortunately even to activate the 10 day free trial, they require a call with a specialist – and they were not even eager to let me “test out” the api, instead referring me to 3rd party media watch solutions. Even if I got the 10 day free access, I couldn’t imagine having to call them and speaking to probably the same people over and over again to gain access.

      Ohh well. Hey, if there is some sort of shared/group buy access to the api you know of, I would be super interested. Thanks much.

      Well, sorry but I am not aware of a shared API key, as it is impossible to limit the access to the API key so each person who purchased the shared key get equal part of it.

      So neither the free API key access will work. This is really hard to figure out.

      Really not sure how to handle this, I will ask around some friends, but still, I cannot promise a solution, as this is hardcore limited by Webz.io.

      No worries Szabi 🙂 I was just throwing a suggestion out there.

      If some sort of solution/workaround does become available, please let me know – I’ll be 1st in line to buy.
