      Hello Szabi

Siteground has flagged the plugin as malware that is affecting the site tools (cpanel) function and backup restore and a possible cause for my site breaking (not able to access dashboard).

      Hello,

First of all, thank you for your purchase.

This is very unusual, never had similar issues before. Can you ask details, please, about why did they flag my plugin as malware? Or can you put me in direct contact with them?

      Thank you.

Also, please let me know details about how your site is breaking, so I can get a better understanding of the issue you are facing, maybe I am able to help.

      Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.

      This is what they sent…

      Hello,

I have located a file detected with suspicious content which can cause issues to use some of the tools in your Site Tools account:

       Scanning [/home/u725-mr25vy268hhx/www] ... Please wait...

       [STR]php_post_uploader [02/03/21] /home/u725-mr25vy268hhx/www/******/public_html/wp-content/plugins/newsomatic-news-post-generator/newsomatic-news-post-generator.php

       -----------------------------------------

       Scanned Files : 44143

       Scanner Hits : 1

Please bare in mind that we do not offer malware clean-up services.

Here you can check our article about How to clean my files from malicious code.

Following antivirus software can be helpful in such cases: https://my.siteground.com/support/kb/what_antivirus_software_do_you_recommend

In case you face any difficulties, my recommendation is to contact the website security company Sucuri for malware detection, cleanup and prevention. You can check the link bellow:

      https://siteground.com/sucuri

As an alternative, you can contact a professional developer who would be able to clean this further for you.

Once this action has been performed, you may test anew the backup restore.

Should it fail again, please re-open this ticket, so that we may check the case further.

I am unable to login to my wordpress dashboard as its saying something went critically wrong. I know this normally happens when a plugin is updated. so i went to my cpanel to restore from a back up but when i got to restore it says that the backup has failed. My host (Sitegrounds) then came back and said it could be due to this plug in to which they sent the email above

Well, this is an False Positive detection from the scanner they are using.

False Positive means that the plugin is reported as malware, but it is not really a malware.

If you check the report, it contains the word:

      php_post_uploader

This means that they flag all autoblogging plugins as "php_post_uploader malware", but in reality, autoblogging plugins (which upload posts automatically) are not malware.

You can simply check if your site is broken because of the plugin, simply by deleting the newsomatic-news-post-generator folder found at this path: \wp-content\plugins\newsomatic-news-post-generator

If you delete this folder, the Newsomatic plugin will be removed from your site and if it caused your site to not function, your site should work again.

However, if your site will continue to not function after you removed the plugin's folder, this will tell you that the plugin is not the reason for your site being unfunctional.

Let me know if this info helped.

      Regards.
