Hello!
I created a new app, Fobomatic login need the email access, to get it I should verify a Business profile, but we are not a full business, so I put the xs and c_user cookie. I started importing the FB posts and they were generated on WP, but the feature image was one of my friend profile pic instead of one of the pics in the posts.
I deleted those posts using the plugin action and I tryied again to import all the posts, (4 in total), but they were’t imported, so I can’t add a screenshot of the issue.
So:
– should I use a dummy FB profile to avoid the problem with the feature image?
– is there a way to reset the post import cache?
thx! -

Another question:
Is there a way to avoid the email request for the login with the Facebook App? -

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your purchase.
1. Yes, you should use a dummy account cookies for the importing, as this will keep also your real account safe from getting blocked or limited by Facebook (did not happen in my case, but it is good to prepare for eventual future policy restrictions from Facebook).
2. Please go to rule settings and UNcheck the ‘Cache Items For Continuous Posting’ checkbox -> save settings.

Also, no, currently the email request cannot be avoided, sorry for this.

Thx for the answer.
1) I’ll create a dummy profile, no problem.
2) I’ve already try this, but the posts didn’t show up. I’ll try again as soon as I’ll set up the dummy profile. If I get the same problem, I’ll wrote you again.Regards

Hi again,
to solve the last problem I’ve told you, I installed a previous site backup and I installed and set Fbomatic again with a dummy profile.
All posts were imported, but there are 2 issues:
1) there is a “ghost” post with only some code as you can see here: https://www.deluxeapartments.it/blog/
(I’ve deleted a post 30 mins ago on FB, could it be it? even if the images where completly dfferent)
2) FB posts has a link at the end of the text and it’s not in the imported ones. How can I import the links too?
Thx as always. -

3)We have a multi-language site with polylang. Where can I find a guide to setup different languages ?

Hello,
Please send me the facebook page URL from where you imported these posts, so I can check on this also on my part.
Regarding Polylang, you can try something like: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cVK5cCmajxE

About the language, my question was too vague. I’ll try to explain it better.
Our site is in Italian as main language and in English. I marked IT as language in my primary rule to export content from facebook to WP. If I set another rule marking EN as language, Fbomatic would export the content in the englsh version of the site, even if the post is in Italian? -

Yes, it will export it to English.

Thx
Maybe I understood the stange post. Facebook made a post to announce the photo as new background. Could Fbomatic have taken it as a real post? -
July 11, 2025 at 10:40 am #12239
Yes, I also concluded that Facebook added some kind of dummy post, which was taken by the plugin as a real post. The ugly part is that I don’t see a way to differentiate these dummy posts. But I look into this.

Due to FB spaghetti coding, I think you can’t…. Luckily it’s a rare occurrence.
Thx! -

What about the links? As I asked “2) FB posts has a link at the end of the text and it’s not in the imported ones. How can I import the links too?”
-
July 11, 2025 at 8:22 pm #12251
Yes, the links are added to posts as plain text, like http://www.deluxeapartments.it – they are not actual links in posts. Because of this, the plugin is importing them in textual form.
Currently they cannot be imported as clickable links, but I noted this idea, will think on it.Regards.

Ok thx.
Sorry to bother you again, but Fbomatic is not working.
After the initial importing that was all right, I wrote a new test post on FB and add a second rule to import it in the English section of the site too.
After 10 minutes I run the importing rules manually, but it wasn’t imported.
I thought it could be a matter of time delay, so I deleted that post and wrote a new one. This time I waited for the rules to run automatically (I set 6 hour). I wrote it yesterday evening at 8pm, but now it’s almost 10am and the post wasn’t imported.
Can you verify the issue?
Tell me how I can send you a temporary access to out wp-admin.
Regards

Hello,
Please try readding the Facebook account cookies to the plugin settings, as they might got invalidated.
Also, be sure to not sign out from the browser where you log in to your secondary Facebook account, just close the browser.
Let me know if this helped.
Regards.

I can’t see my reply. Do you get it?
-
July 12, 2025 at 9:25 am #12272
Hi, I tried but the cookies IDs are the same and I didn’t logout from the browser for sure.
As you can see in the screenshot, the rule returned a yellow square as there is no new post, but if you can check the latest post on our FB page and then you check our blog page, , you can see that post is missing.
Can you verify the issue?
Thx and regards -

Ok, please try unchecking the ‘Cache Items For Continuous Posting’ checkbox -> save settings -> run rule again.
Let me know if this helped.

No it didn’t
It returned a yellow square again, but the post is not in our posts.
