Duplicate images in media library

      There is a problem where NEARLY all (or a very high proportion) of images are duplicated in the media library (sometimes there are 2   copies or more).

      because of this the monthly uploads directory can be 3G instead of maybe 1G – it wouldn’t be a problem except downloading a site backup takes a lot longer.
