1) Display original site name
I’d like to display in each post a black box with the original site name, such as ‘EIKE’ in this sample: https://alternative-presseschau.com/category/eike/
Which is the appropriate setting, please?2) Display original author’s name
I’d like to display in each post the original author’s name (instead of local admin’s name). Which is the appropriate setting, please?2a) Alternatively, do not display any author’s name.
Again, which is the appropriate setting?Best regards,
Peter

Hello,
First of all, thank you for your purchase.
1) To add the original site name to posts, please go to importing rule settings in the plugin ‘Echo to Post Rules’ -> click ‘Settings’ for the rule you wish to edit -> go to ‘Generated Post Content’ settings field -> add the name EIKE in to the settings field (append this to the content that you have there) -> save settings -> import new posts.
2) To not display the author’s name, this is a theme related settings, you need to contact your theme’s support and ask them about how to achieve this.
Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.

Hello,
1. Displaying the category in the preview section (excerpt) of each post, can be handled automatically by the theme, if you go plugin’s ‘Main Settings’ -> check the ‘Disable Automatic Excerpt Generation’ checkbox -> save settings -> create new posts.
Like this, the theme will fully handle the preview of posts, and it can be customized from it’s settings.
2. Updated the plugin to v4.9.4.6 -> added new settings field ‘Default Post Author User ID‘ in ‘Main Settings’ – I think this will help.
Regards.

1. I don’t know the TagDiv team personally, I just heard of them. However, we are in the same country, but in neighbouring cities. I am from Cluj-Napoca 🙂 – regarding the issue, yes, if I understood this issue and your question correctly, the displaying of categories (the black box you referred to) is fully dependent of the theme. My plugin can just add this to the content of the post (which is not displayed in the preview section of the post).
2. This sounds like a weird issue, I will look into the ID+1 problem, this did not happen for me so far. No need for time delays between deleting posts and re-importing them.
Regards.

Well, it seems that your theme is not supporting this feature.
This is an experimental feature (not officially supported by WordPress – just implemented by me), and it is not working well on all themes (not all themes display images in a standard way, some are displaying them directly from the database, in which case, I am unable to load images remotely.
To make this work, the only option is to look for a theme which will support this feature.

Maybe the ‘Strip Images From Post Content’ checkbox from importing rule advanced settings will help? 🙂

Ok, one more try:The plugin can link the generated post titles directly to the source article – and like this, making a similar behavior to what you wish to achieve. Please go to plugin’s ‘Main Settings’ -> check the ‘Enable the ‘Link Generated Post Titles To Source Articles’ Feature’ checkbox -> save settings -> go to importing rule advanced settings (hit ‘Settings’ for the rule you wish to edit -> check the ‘Link Generated Post Titles To Source Articles’ checkbox -> save settings -> import new posts. Please note that the plugin will still create posts, but they will link to the source article.Regards,

Right now, I see the most recent articles dates for both links set to: 2020-01-30
Regarding cron, yes, the server should be able to handle 10 minutes cron runs, however, if you import content from many feeds, this might use up significant part of server resources – but should not impact visitor site load time.

Hello,
For $last_run you can set: 1988-01-27 00:00:00
For $rule_unique_id you can set a random unique string.
Yes, if you uncheck the ‘Do Not Generate Inexistent Categories for New Posts:’ checkbox, the plugin will create new categories on your site. Yes, you can also set default categories that are already existing on you site, with the $default_category settings.
Regards.

Hello,
1. Please go to importing rule settings for the rule which imports from this specific RSS feed and check the ‘Skip Checking Feed Image’ and ‘Skip Checking OG:Image Meta’ checkboxes -> save settings -> import new posts. Let me know if did not work.
2. Well, currently there is no way to hide the author, when you use the ‘Post to RSS Rules’ plugin menu. Added to my update ideas list.
3. Usually yes, I am available for hire, but right now, I am fully booked with custom work for a long period of time, and I cannot take any more jobs in this period. Sorry for this.

1. Please send me temp admin login to your site, so I can check on this. I tried using the feed URL on my test blog, and for me images are showing correctly, so something might be different on your site. My email is kisded@yahoo.com
2. I still don’t fully understand this question, maybe can you send me some screenshots, please?
3. Sure, let me know details in an email.
Regards.
