      Hello,

I already have many posts (10,000+) on my website with youtube videos on them but they don’t have captions added in text as content for the post. As such, I created a custom field for the (10,000+) existing posts where I will add youtube captions. I’m just wondering if there is a way to use the captions generated by the youtubomatic plugin to update existing posts (i.e. append the youtube captions generated by youtubomatic to the custom field area of the existing posts).

The urls of the existing post will be the same as the urls of the aiomatic posts, since both are based on the youtube video title. So I thought the two could be matched together using regex expressions. It’s just that you also have to look within the existing post, find the new custom field where captions will go, and add the generated youtubomatic content there.

I don’t know if this is possible or if the regex settings only allows you to find and replace fresh content generated by youtubomatic, rather than append it to old existing posts.

      Thank you in advance

      Hello,

First of all, thank you for your purchase.

Youtubomatic can add content to existing posts when it is combined with the Kraken Post Editor plugin (however, it is able to add only post content, not custom fields).

Unfortunately, I don’t have a plugin which can achieve what you described in your requirements. To get what you would need, a custom plugin would be needed to be implemented. I would help with this, but I have a large amount of custom work already in my schedule, and I am not available for work for a long period of time.

However, if you wish, I can put you in contact with a team of WordPress developers with whom I worked in the past. They might be able to help you, but I cannot be sure of this, you should ask. Let me know if you are interested and I will share their contact details.

      Regards, Szabi – CodeRevolution.

      Hello,

Thank you for your quick response. I have a few alternative workflows that I will try first since they might be cheaper than hiring wordpress developers.  Otherwise, I’ll be sure to get in touch if I need their contact information.

      All the best
