Plugin install failed

Hi I tried to install hand of midas as per documentation. The error I am getting is this; no matter which site I try. <p class="p1">[20-Feb-2020 03:12:58 UTC] PHP Parse error:<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>syntax error, unexpected 'if' (T_IF) in /home/****/public_html/wp-includes/deprecated.php on line 3652 However I fixed this by uploading the original deprecated.php file from the wordpress folder. It seemed to have worked. Could you please check this anyhow.
