Assistants Not Working/Why do we need them

Hi, I created an assistant (and a duplicate of one) but none of them are available in the dropdown, and it is preventing the usage of the plugin. Why are we forced to use assistants? Plugin worked fine before this features, will consuming assistants be optional?
